Thomas E. Cook
Tom is well known for his expertise in golf clubfitting and
clubmaking. He is a Certified Professional Class "A"
Clubmaker of which there are only 74 in the world. He was a
finalist for International Clubmaker of the Year in 2000 and
2001. In 2002 he received the honor of "2002 International
Clubmaker of the Year."
He is well respected for his knowledge of the history of the
golf club. Tom speaks to numerous groups each year and can
fashion his talk to club meetings or banquets. His knowledge
and his humor have made him very popular. Whether it is a
service club meeting or banquet he will be dressed
appropriately in his kilt and full formal Scottish apparel.
Tom has been fitting and making golf clubs full-time for 16
years, and fits over 650 individuals for clubs each year.
He is considered one of the best when applying the physics
of the club to the physics of the swing. He is well
published having had 54 articles published with 18 in
national professional journals.
Tom is the owner of Pat Ryan Golf in Minnetonka, MN.
Something he finds hard to admit here in Minnesota is he
graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S. degree in
Recreation Administration. He is the former Executive
Director of the Minnesota Recreation and Park Association.
Tom and his wife Sue are well traveled and have played most
of the top courses in Scotland, Ireland, England, and Wales.
This includes playing the Old Course at St. Andrews three
times.
