Knowing the history of golf will develop a better appreciation for the game

We have always felt that when you know the history of a sport, you will have a better appreciation for the sport.  An appreciation for the skill needed to play at a high level, and an appreciation for the equipment needed to excel.  

We also feel that the same is true about a trade or profession.  History can give us a better appreciation for the present.  It can also give us the opportunity to better project what the future might hold.  

The following provides a look at the history of golf.
