Low handicappers need a very experienced club
fitter who can ascertain the subtle differences and nuances
in a person’s swing and relate those to the physics of the
club
The low handicap golfer is usually an
individual that plays golf on a very regular basis; has been
or is taking instruction; and has changed equipment often
enough that what they are using is closer to a fit than the
average golfer’s clubs. This means that the club fitter
needs to understand the physics of the swing and be able to
relate it to the physics of the club. It also means that
the fitter needs to be highly qualified and very experienced
in fitting golfers so he can identify those subtle
differences that can improve the golfer’s game.
Low handicapped golfers will be fitted by Tom
Cook, Sr., the only Certified “Class A” Club fitter in
Minnesota. Tom was the first clubfitter in Minnesota to use
computers for fitting clubs over 17 years ago, which means
he is very experienced fitting golfers with computers. He
was honored by the Professional Clubmakers’ Society as
“International Clubmaker of the Year” in 2002. He is a
charter member of the World Scientific Congress of Golf, St.
Andrews Scotland. He is the only clubmaker in the United
States that has attended 3 of the World Scientific
Congresses of Golf in St. Andrews, and the only clubmaker to
attend the “International Golf Theory in Practice Conference
in Ulster, Ireland. Tom is well know and very respected
nationally as one of the top clubfitters in the nation.
Beyond this he has a passion for fitting that you will not
find with any other club fitter in Minnesota.
All club alterations or club building will be
done by Tom, Jr. & Kimberly both Certified “Class A”
Clubmakers. Pat Ryan Golf is the only shop in Minnesota
with all staff being certified clubmakers.
If the low handicapper thinks his/her game is
important to them, it becomes even more important to Tom,
Sr. and the Cook Family. They will be doing whatever is
necessary to develop golf equipment that compliments the
golfers playing needs.
